BettyJi is a Singer-Songwriter and Entrepreneur from Seattle, Washington. From the beginning, BettyJi has always been a storyteller. Her nontraditional origin story has greatly influenced her music, which allowed her to give voice to her journey. In all her endeavors, BettyJi is passionate about putting artistry and truth over everything, whether it be for her own projects or her collaborations. She started as a singer-songwriter, choosing to be empowered by her own narrative and find the universality in all experiences that tie people to one another.   

 

As a child, BettyJi grew up listening to Carole King, Madonna, and Cher courtesy of the CDs found in her mothers’ car and singing made-up songs from her car seat. Inspired by Taylor Swift, BettyJi started teaching herself guitar at the age of 10, looking up chord charts on the internet for her favorite songs. As a performer, she has 10 years of vocal coaching under her belt and accompanies herself on both the acoustic guitar and piano. Today, BettyJi’s music tells narratives with folk and pop fundamentals paired with contemporary R&B sounds. She has recently debuted her Songs and Stories showcase, an intimate songwriting series that elevates the voices of diverse writers and their narratives. 

 

 Experienced in both Pro Tools and Logic Pro, BettyJi finds that her own artistry and musicality allow her to better help other creators achieve their artistic vision. BettyJi's most recent singles, "Hypnotized" and "Insomniac," are now streaming on all Platforms.
