"When I first started writing ‘Cheers’, I knew right away that it was going to be different than everything else on the EP. The idea for the chorus had been written for months but I struggled with understanding how it was going to jump out of the speakers at the listener. BettyJi's debut EP. From start to finish, "The Story of My Name" was written, recorded, and mixed by BettyJi. The EP engages in a self-portrait-style narrative form of songwriting. The project exemplifies her understanding of how the story, music, and audio are intrinsically intertwined.
The Living Room Live Stream

The Living Room Livestream was a musical event featuring artists BettyJi, brennanicole, and Ma'at. In addition to performing, BettyJi also set up the live PA system and, assisted by the other two performers, recorded the audio to be synced with the accompanying visual performance. She also did a post-production mix on the live takes before the event debuted.
